Dark love

Dark love is the medicine doctors should prescribe for a broken heart.

Liquid gold flows through the words as they caress the shattered soul.

While it's raining down the cracks and she's left with the pieces of a broken me, she asks herself: 'Am I broken beyond repair?'Of course there is no comfort in losing and certainly faith has been tested, but it's time to 'quench your own thirst'.

Unwrapping the present, she lets her heart's desire speak loudly. Then walls crumble and silence breaks.

Diane started writing poems at 24 to cope with her mother's death. For 30 years they stay safely hidden behind lock and key. In 'Dark love' she breaks the silence.

Writer and poet Diane van den Heuvel published two bundles of poems simultaneously. 'Dark love' in English and 'Als alles leeft' in Dutch, her native language. Although different, they're twins. Comforting like bittersweet chocolate.
