I?u?an

This is my first collection of poetry. Initially these poems were written solely in Kabyle Berber. In order for my close familly in the UK to understand them, I also wrote versions of the poems in French. These are not literal translations of the Kabyle poems. As a product of the Algerian and then the French education systems, I have had to learn to read and write my native language as a grown adult. Having said that, I am aware that my written words in the language I was born into may not be perfect. For this, I apologise. I do not consider myself a poet. I have simply written about what lives in me. Since putting my feelings into words, I have found peace in my heart. Southend-on-Sea, May 2021.
