THE AYRSHIRE POLICE WAR MEMORIAL

The Ayrshire police war memorial lists the names of twenty one officers who fell in the two World Wars. This book charts the history of the war memorial raised to remember the officers of the Ayrshire Constabulary and Kilmarnock Burgh Police forces who made the ultimate sacrifice and gives some background of policing by the two forces, and the Ayr Burgh Police force, during both conflicts. In commemoration of the officers named on the memorial, a summary of their service and short lives, and where possible images of the officers themselves, brings a personal and lasting story to the list of twenty one names, and perpetuates their memory for future generations.
